Pick-up day for the designers

The much anticipated day has arrived: the day our designer friends choose which weaver and weaving artwork they pair themselves up with! Our studio space has been transformed into a forest of colorful weavings!! Each designer had little or no struggle choosing who their soul made weaver was for this project. The weaving corresponded beautifully with the personality of the designer. Many different walks of life are participating in this event. The creative group includes knitwear designers, costume designers, performance and installation artists, textile and fiber artists, and milliners from in or around the NYC area. Many are alumni and faculty of the Maryland Institute College of Art with degrees in Fiber and other art departments. Backgrounds also include current students of Parsons School of Design NY and Fashion Institute of Technology. Can't wait to see what we all come up with and the kinds of garments we will create!
