We’re Hiring!
Summary
Intertwine Arts seeks dynamic and experienced Teaching Artists to provide support during our participant-led weaving workshops.
The progressive art studio model is a learner-centered, inclusive approach that treats the studio as a community of artists rather than a classroom. It emphasizes autonomy, access, and authentic art practice over instruction-by-lesson. Intertwine Arts follows this model. We encourage participants to explore their own aesthetic, weave in a way that best suits them, and express themselves with no judgement or intervention. Intertwine Teaching Artists are adaptable teachers, adjusting their instruction for participant needs and abilities as well as championing the artistic ambitions of each individual weaver.
We offer weaving workshops online as well as in-person across New York City. Online workshops are based around DIY looms made from recycled and/or accessible materials.
