Learn how to make yarn using a spindle, the most basic tool used in the craft of handspinning. Spindles have been used for over 30,000 years! We will work with different types of sheep wools and also flax plant fibers.
About Gigi
Gigi Matthews has sold yarns in markets and on Etsy, and has taught spinning at guilds, regional fiber arts conferences, the Tatter Textile Library, and the John C. Campbell Folk School. She is currently the president of the Handweavers Guild of America.
This workshop will take place at Positive Exposure Gallery, a warm and welcoming space dedicated to making art accessible and inclusive. The gallery is designed to be a comfortable environment where everyone can explore, create, and connect.
