Touch is a powerful form of communication, connection, and understanding. It is a way we experience the world beyond the boundaries of spoken language.

For many people, touch is central to how they navigate and interpret their surroundings. People who are blind or visually impaired may experience art through texture, shape, temperature, and material. Many autistic individuals and people with sensory differences experience touch in unique and varied ways, finding comfort through different textures and sensations. For people with disabilities, touch can be a pathway to independence, expression, accessibility, and belonging.

The softness of fiber art piece, the material, the structure of a weave, the repetition of a stitch, can all invite reflection on how we connect with ourselves and each other.
